William Thede, 74, who resided at R. 2, New Holstein, died at 7 a.m. at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, where he had been a patient for eight days.
Mr. Thede was born in the Town of New Holstein on Aug 19, 1896, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thede. He was a farmer most of his life and lived in the New Holstein area for 41 years. On June 26, 1929, he married Clara Volkmar at Colby, Wis. Mr. Thede was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Vernon at home and Roland of Kiel; five daughters, Mr. Elwood (Alice) Hinze of Brillion, Mrs. John (Laura) Bangert of Green Bay, Miss Leona Thede at home, Mrs. Frederick (Edna) Kromm of New Holstein, and Mrs. John (LaVerne) Cegielnick of Fond du Lac; 22 grandchildren and two brothers, Edmund of Colby and John of Eugene, Ore.
Funeral services will be Friday at St. John UCC with Rev. Charles A Koch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery.
