Alice Mae Hintz, age 77, of W428 E. River Road, Brillion, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at home, following a four and a half year battle with cancer.
She was born on May 5, 1930, in New Holstein, daughter of the late William and Emaline (Voelker) Thede. She married Elwood Hintz on May 21, 1955, in New Holstein. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2006.
Alice worked for 24 years at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein, and farmed with her husband on the family farm. She was a member of Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter. She enjoyed baking for her grandchildren, gardening and reading.
Alice is survived by her children:
Dennis (Debra) Hintz of Chilton;
Diane (Dennis) Duchow of Brillion;
Linda (Kim) Broyles of Sun Prairie;
David (Kim) Hintz of Brillion;
Mark (Julie) Hintz of Chilton;
Kenneth (Sherry) Hintz of Brillion; and
Cheryl (Keith) Reinke of Chilton;
18 grandchildren: Mike and Melissa Hintz; Marilyn and Meghan Hintz; Jason, Jessica and Justin Duchow; Joey Broyles; Bridgette and Brent Haley; Evan and Jacqualine Broyles; Christa, Katie, Jeremy and Trevor Hintz; Matt and Zach Hintz; Kelli Andre; Alicia Bunnell; and Marissa Hintz; a greatgrandchild: Lakyn Hintz.
She is further survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law: Laura (Jack) Bangart of Green Bay; Leona Reineman of New Holstein; Edna (Terry) Ninnaman of Fond du Lac; and LaVerne (John) Ceigelnik, Idaho; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Vernon (Ruth) Thede of Chilton, and Roland (Katherine) Thede of New Holstein; a sister-in-law: LaVerna Heilgendorf; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers-in-law: Clifford Reineman and Elmer Heilgendorf; and two nephews: Timothy Thede and Steven Kromm.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church, 181 Main St., Potter, with the Rev. Marc Axelrod officiating. Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m., and then again at the church on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
