Greene County relatives have received word of the death of Morford Throckmorton Grimes, 62, a native of Greene County, who died June 12, 1940 at his home near Derby, Iowa.
Mr. Grimes, whose brother, Frank Grimes, lives near Prosperity, attended Waynesburg College, and at the age of 19 went to Iowa in 1876.
Three years later he moved to a farm near Derby, where he has since resided. He was a member and long time trustee of the Derby Methodist Church and was active in civic affairs. He leaves his wife, two sons, two daughters, a brother, Frank, of Prosperity and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Elliott, of Sharon, and Mrs. Frances Sitherwood, of Bloomington, Ill.
