Mrs. Frances Sitherwood a noted geneologist and widow of a former Bloomington, Illinois dentist died on December 6, 1952 at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, Illinois.

Mrs. Sitherwood had been listed in "Who's Who In Genealogy" for her books on histories of her mother and father.

She was born as Frances Sara Grimes on September 23, 1859 in Center Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Caleb J. Grimes and Margaret (Throckmorton) Grimes.

Frances Sara Grimes married to Dr. George Dallas Sitherwood on June 25, 1890.

She attended Waynesburg Girls College, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Illinois State Normal University, Normal, Illinois; and graduated from Philadelphia School of Elocution.

She taught in Rockford, Illinois schools from 1888 to 1890.

Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Grace Brent of San Marino, California; and one granddaughter.

Her husband and one son preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Methodist Church for 60 years; Daughters of the American Revolution and the Longfellow Club.
