Frederick R. Grimes, a former well known resident of Center township, died in a hospital in Warren, Pa., Monday, February 15, aged 55 years. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Grimes, a son of Caleb and Margaret Throckmorton Grimes, deceased, was born near Hopewell July 13, 1876. He attended Illinois State Normal school and Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa. He was united in marriage with Miss Jessie Funk, September 24, 1900.
Beside his wife, Mrs. Jessie Funk Grimes, of Waynesburg, R. D., and two sons, Harry Grimes, a teacher in the Sharon High school and Morford Grimes, a student in Waynesburg College, he leaves two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Nannie Elliott, Sharon, Pa.; Mrs. Frances Sitherwood, Bloomington, Ill.; Morford T. Grimes, Derby, Iowa, and Frank Grimes, Prosperity, Pa.
