THACKERS TO BE FETED ON GOLDEN WEDDING

The family of Fay E. and Thailia W. Thacker will honor their parents at an open house in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.

The event will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Castle Gate Ward Cultural Hall and on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lion's Sportsman Building, 600 E. Center in Pleasant Grove. Friends and relatived are invited and the family requests no gifts.

Fay E. Thacker was born to John and Eliza Thacker. He is a retired coal miner and also served as a member and president of the town board of Castle Gate.

Active in the LDS Church, he has served as Sunday School superintendent. Bishop's Counselor, Bishop, teacher of priesthood quorum and as teacher in the Sunday School. At the present time, he is the North Carbon Stake Patriarch.

Mrs. Thacker, daughter of Harry F. and Eliza Watson, has also been active in the LDS Church. She has served in various auxilaries, especially as a teach. She has also been ward and stake Primary president. She is now the ward Relief Society secretary.

The Thackers are parents of three sons and four daughters: Harry F. Thacker, Phoenix, Arizona; F. Weldon Thacker, Bountiful; Mrs. Robert B. (Fern) Anderson, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. W. Lloyd (Helen Gheen, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Mrs. Jack W. (Marilyn) Leifson, Spanish Fork and Mrs. John S. (LaPreal) Allison, Clearfield; one son, J. Kent Thacker is deceased. The couple also have 33 grand children.
