Aurtance Ellen Thacker Rigby

Aurtance Ellen Thacker Rigby passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2004 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.

Aurta was born October 25, 1908 in Daniel, Heber Valley, Utah to Eliza Ann Winterton and John Thacker. She was raised on a farm with six brothers and three sisters and was taught to help with work and enjoyed it. She married Weldon Rigby on June 10, 1931 in the LDS Temple. They have been life-long sweethearts for 73 years and three days.

She was a woman of strength and compassion in her home, at church, with her family and friends and gave selflessly of her time and talents. She loved children, music, quilting and made the best raspberry jam and carrot cookies in the state of Utah. She led a simple happy life. She was a caring mother to Brent Rigby, (wife Marsha), grandchildren Andrew and Patrick, (wife Christi), and great-grandmother to Dragan, Paden and Celia. She is survived by her husband, Weldon and brother Afton. We will miss her humor and charm. "You can put down your duster and stop checking your list. You did a right proper job and we are all proud."

Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends and family can gather for a memorial in the Chapel followed by graveside services.
