John Thacker

Daniels, Wasatch County--Funeral services for John Thacker, 83, retired farmer and cattleman, will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Wasatch Stake Tabernacle,
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Heber City, by Dean Bethers, Bishop of the Daniels Ward.

Friends may call at the family residence here Saturday evening and Sunday prior to services.

Mr Thacker died Friday February 23, 1951 at 8:40 a.m. in his home here after a lingering illness. He was born June 7, 1867 in Smithfield, a son of William and Rachel Tonks Thacker. He has lived in Wasatch County since his childhood.

He married Eliza Ann Winterton Dec 19, 1894 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. temple. He was a High Priest and was active in church and civic affairs. He was a lover of the
outdoors and of children. He loved to work in the mountains.

Surviving are his widow of Daniels and the following sons and daughters: Ralph A. and Horton F., Daniel; Irwin W. and Afton M., Heber City; Mrs W.E.(Chloe) Slade, Kaysville; Mrs Leslie (Nellie) Webb, Hinckley; Bishop Fay E.(Thaylia) Thacker, Castle Gate; Mrs Weldon (Aurta) Rigby, Salt Lake City; and John Weston Thacker,(Anna)
Mesa, Arizona. 29 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

Burial will be in the Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, Utah.

John Thacker

John Thacker, a resident, for 80 years of Daniel, Wasatch County, Utah, died at 6:15 a.m. February 23, 1951 of hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

He was born June 7, 1867 in Smithfield, Cache County, Utah to Rachel Tonks Thacker and William Thacker. He married Eliza Ann Winterton December 19, 1894 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His occupation was a farmer and stockman. Surviving him is his wife.

They had twelve children: Ralph Alonzo Thacker, Nellie Rachel Thacker, Chloe Isabelle Thacker, Fay Elgie Thacker, Hyrum (twin) Thacker, Harold (twin) Thacker, Irwin "W" Thacker, Thora Ann Thacker, Aurtance "Aurta" Ellen Thacker, John Weston Thacker, Horton F. Thacker and Afton Thacker.

Interment is made in the Charleston Cemetery on February 25, 1951. Olpin Mortuary handled the funeral arrangements.
