KAYSVILLE--Chloe Isabell Thacker Slade, 87, died Sunday, May 25, 1986 at her home.
Born February 3, 1899 in Buysville, (now Daniel) Utah, the daughter of John and Eliza Ann Winterton Thacker. Married William Elbert Slade October 10, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died September 18, 1968. She was reared in Daniel, lived in Ogden briefly, spent 22 years in Heber and the last 39 years in Kaysville. Educated in Wasatch County Schools and attended BYU Academy. She taught school several years in Wasatch County. Active member LDS Church, holding many positions including secretary of Relief Society, devoted much of her time to genealogy and temple work, Member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the American Legion Auxillary. She was the recipient of the Unsung Hero Award presented by Kaysville in 1984.
Survived by two sons, three daughters, Curtis W. Slade and Harold D. Slade, both Kaysville; Mrs. Lionel (Norma) Simmons, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Don (Rhea) Manning, Farmington; Mrs. Deloy (Beth) Reid, Kaysville; 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four brothers, one sister, Fay E. Thacker, Clearfield; Horton F. Thacker, Daniel; Afton M. Thacker, Heber; J. Weston Thacker, Mesa, Arizona; sister, Aurta Rigby, Salt Lake. Preceded in death by a son, Elbert J. Slade and grandson, Brian Slade.
Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m., Kaysville 13th Ward 2nd North 875 East with Bishop Howard Cheney officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortvart, 400 North Main, Kaysville and Thursday at the church 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Dedicatory prayer will be offered at 3 p.m. at the Heber City Cemetery.
