She attended Stephan Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Louis County.
At the time of her death at DePaul Health Center in the St. Anne Division, Katheryn was 87 years, 8 months and 11 days old.
She was survived by her husband, Harold; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Ward Carhart; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 sister, Minnie Vint of St. Louis County, Missouri; 1 brother, Herman Hoelzel of St. Louis County; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Katheryn was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Conrad Hoelzel, who died in infancy, George Hoelzel, Elmer Hoelzel, Carl Hoelzel and Frank Hoelzel; and 1 sister, Rose Eads.
Funeral services were conducted on 18 May 1989 at Bauann Colonial Chapel in St. Louis County, Missouri. Burial at Lake Charles Memorial Park Cemetery followed.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.
Katheryn's husband, Harold, passed away in 1993 and was buried next to her.
