Lena Pearle was the second daughter born to Bob & Ima Johnson, she was born on the farm in Wesley Chapel, that they had purchased in 1920.
She married John Travis Owen, 16 October 1942 in Stockton, California after riding a train to California from her home state. They had four sons, David Lynn, John Kenneth, Marion Eugene, and James Gary Owen.
John and Lena Pearle met when he came to a revival to preach that was held at the Church of God in Crockett. During their courtship he was called to military service. The couple married while he was in the service. After his discharge they settled in Houston County, Texas for a short while, moved to Wellington, Texas where John Travis pastored a Church of God church. After leaving Wellington they moved to Stanton, Texas. After the two oldest boys graduated from high school, the couple moved to Crockett, Texas with the two younger boys. The couple were members of the Church of God-Cleveland, TN denomination
After returning to Crockett, Texas, the couple built a home in the Wesley Chapel area. Lena Pearle lived the rest of her life in Wesley Chapel on that home place which once was part of the family farm.
