Ruth M. Nelson -- Rochester

The funeral for Ruth M. Nelson will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Vine Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Tantow, chaplain at Samaritan Bethany officiating. Burial will be in Old Concord Cemetery at West Concord.

Mrs. Nelson, 96, a longtime Rochester homemaker, died this morning (Aug. 22, 1997) at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth where she had resided three years.

Ruth M. Babcock was born Sept. 25, 1900, in West Concord, graduated from West Concord High school in 1917 and after attending normal school in Mantorville taught in Sargeant-Waltham area country schools until her marriage. On Nov. 25, 1925, she married Martin A. Nelson in Red Wing. They lived in West Concord until 1939 and then in Byron until moving to Rochester in 1945. Her husband was a mechanic at Postier & Eggers and International Truck in Rochester. He died May 5, 1980.

Survivors removed for privacy

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
