Sarah Etta Uptagrafft -- Hayfield

WEST CONCORD -- The funeral for Sarah Etta Uptagrafft will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in West Concord, with the Rev. David Breederland officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in West Concord.

Mrs. Uptagrafft, 101, of Hayfield, a former West Concord-area farm homemaker, died Monday (Aug. 23, 1999) at Field Crest Nursing Home in Hayfield where she had resided since July 1994.

Sarah Etta Babcock was born June 18, 1898, in West Concord, graduated from West Concord High School, and after completing normal training in West Concord taught in Dodge County schools for several years. On June 18, 1919, she married Claude Uptagrafft in West Concord and they farmed in the West Concord and Dodge Center areas for many years. Her husband died May 8, 1986. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Concord.

Survivors removed for privacy.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and eight sisters. Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church. Michaelson Funeral Home-West Concord Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
