Away After Long Illness
West Concord, MN - Miss Minnie L. Babcock, 81, passed away at her home here Thursday, January 23rd, after an illness of many years.
She was born Dec. 14, 1887, in Kenyon and moved to West Concord in 1892 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Birdge L. Babcock. She never married.
She was a member of the United Methodist church here since 1907 and taught Sunday School there for many years. She also was a member of the WSCS and a charter member of the Legion Auxiliary, serving in many offices.
Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Peterson of Kenyon, Mrs. Martin Nelson of Rochester, Mrs. Joseph Kartel of Mason City, Ia. and Mrs. Claude Uptagrafft and Miss Anna Babcock, both of West Concord. Four brothers, George, Marland, Birdge and Denver Babcock, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church here with the Rev. Charles Burnham officiating. Burial was made in the Concord Cemetery.
The Ferguson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Forrest Chapin, Harry Bell, Lawrence Witt, Paul Farka, Fay Reed, Louis Leach.
