"Edna Pauline Meyer, 74, Alma, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at a Kansas City, Kan., hospital. Mrs. Meyer and her husband farmed until 1966. She was born April 11, 1925, in Norfolk, Ark., the daughter of William Harrison and Bertha (Havner) Lane. She was raised in Baxter County, Ark., and graduated from high school in Arkansas. She lived in Mountain Home, Ark., until 1951, and in Wellsville until 1959. She moved back to Arkansas before she moved to Topeka in 1964. She moved to the farm shortly after she arrived in Topeka. She married William Harlan Drown on February 22, 1943, in Calico Rock, Ark. He died Aug. 14, 1959. She married Kenneth Meyer on June 23, 1966, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Teddy Drown and Randy Drown, and Billy Drown, two daughters, Joan DeCoite and Barbara Drown, three brothers, Andrew Lane, Harrison Lane, and Dean Lane, two sisters, Jewel McNeill, and Mable Cowart, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at R. J. Evans-Gentry Funeral Home in Alma. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Alma. Mrs. Meyer will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m."
