FROSTBURG,MARYLAND -- Edison L. Duckworth, 76, of Piney Mountain Road, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

Born April 28, 1921, in Moscow, Md., he was the son of the late Lawson and Carrie (Nichols) Duckworth. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Corinne Kyles and Gertrude Morgan; and a brother, Raymond Duckworth.

Mr. Duckworth attended Grace Memorial Community Church and was a retired sales representative for Frederick Trading Company, Frederick.

Surviving are his wife, Emma L. Duckworth; two sons, Gary E. Duckworth, Jefferson, and Larry A. Duckworth, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Martha Graves, Cumberland, and Evelyn Maynard, Canton, Ohio; three brothers, Leslie Duckworth, Eckhart, Wallace Duckworth, Fort Meyers, Fla., and Melvin Duckworth, Eckhart; and three grandchildren, Brian, Jason, and Lacy.

At Mr. Duckworth's request, his body will be cremated. There will be no visitation.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Grace Memorial Community Church, Seton Drive, Cumberland, on Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mickey Stephens officiating.

Private inurnment will be held in the Eckhart Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 407 Central Ave., Reisterstown, MD 21136.

Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, is in charge of the arrangements.
