John Harvey Evers, 68, 505 Washington St., died Wednesday night in Memorial Hospital after a three-day illness. Born June 17, 1891, in Bridgewater, he was the son of James Harvey and Sarah Miller Evers.

He was a member of Church of God on Campbell Avenue and was employed by Lynchburg-Westover Dairies, Inc., for the past 15 years.

He was the husband of the late Lomie Lee Evers.

He is survived by seven sons, Paul M. Evers, Roanoke, Arthur D., Carl T., John Earl, Frank E., Lawrence C. and Nelson P. Evers, Lynchburg; one daughter, Mrs. E. A. Williams, Lynchburg; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; two brothers, William A. Evers, Independence, Mo., Warren Evers, Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Mrs. I. W. Lineweaver, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Russell Thacker, Woodstock; one half-brother, Raymond Evers, Orange, and one half-sister, Mrs. Ethel Evans, Fredericksburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday from Whitten Funeral Home with burial in Ft. Hill Memorial Park.
