MRS. BARBARA COCHRAN, OF ELK RUN AVENUE, IS DEAD
Woman Who Has Resided Here 12 Years, Succumbed to Paralysis This Morning
Mrs. Barbara Cochran, who for the past 12 years has been a residence of Punxsutawney, died at her home at 300 Elk Run Avenue at 4:30 this morning. Six weeks ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she never recovered. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Cochran was born at Coolspring, March 12, 1859, a daughter of Godfrey and Catherine Reitz. She was united in marriage to Matthew Cochran in 1878 and they spent most of their married life upon a farm in Oliveburg. He preceded her in death six years ago.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Polly Barr, of Brookville; 2 sons and one daughter, James, of Troutville, and Clarence and Nettie, of this city, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph Crissman, of this city, and Charles Cochran, of Troutville.
Mrs. Cochran was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney. Though quiet and devoted to her family, she was held in high esteem by a host of friends who mourn her departure.
Funeral services will be held at her late home at 3:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, the Rev. H. C. Humke officiating.
