Funeral services will be held at Cobb gymnasium Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock for Rubin Earl Bryant, age 20, who was killed in an 87 foot fall from near the top of the old rig derrick near Whitesboro, Saturday night.

Services will be conducted by brother O.J. Russell, and burial under direction of Gus Pool and Son,in Highland Cemetery Durant,Ok.

Pallbearers will be former Cobb Classmates of the deceased.
They are J.T. DaVault, Frank Webb, Bill McClure, Boyd Mills,
Charles Glenn Bourne, William Albert Bourne, Don Neasbitt,
and Jay McClure.

Mr. Bryant who was the derrick man for Gibson and Holliman Drilling Company, had just gone on his tour of duty at midnight when the accident occurred. One joint of pipe had been pulled from the derrick floor when young Bryant's foot slipped on the crow's nest floor which had been slippery by rain. Horrified fellow workmen looked on helplessly as the young man plunged to the derrick floor.

He had been employed by the drilling company for two months and was communicating to his work from his home at Cobb.

The deceased was born at Center Ridge, Ark; April 7, 1932. The family moved to Cobb 15 years ago, and Rubin Earl received his education there.

He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bryant of Cobb, four brothers, Floyd of Kenefick; Loyd of Bowie,Texas; Troy of Durant, and W.J.of Cobb,and 2 sisters;
Mrs. Wilma Ford, of Cobb; and Mrs.Ruby Bush of Odessa,Tx.
