A graveside service will be at 10 AM Wednesday in Highland Cemetery in Durant for Loyd R.Bryant, 81,Durant who died Monday, December 3, 2001 at the Medical Center of South Eastern Oklahoma in Durant. The Rev. Robert Childers will officiate.
The son of Raymond Samuel and Mary Bell (McGeth) Bryant, he was born Sunday, October 31, 1920 in Morrilton, Arkansas. He married Opal Pauline Quarles September 5, 1942 in Durant Oklahoma.
He loved to play dominoes and played in many tournaments. He was at the Church of Christ faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, January 9, 1998, parents, son, Billy Ray Bryant September 25, 1975, and brothers Rubin Bryant and Troy Bryant.
He is survived by daughter Beulah M Phillips and husband Troy, of Durant, Brother Floyd Bryant Durant, sisters Wilma Ford and Ruby Bush both of Durant, Brother WJ Bryant, Durant, grandchildren Sheila Long and husband Donnie, of Poteau, Buddy Phillips and Dina Jones and husband Darrel, all of Durant, great grandson Mitchell Long,Poteau, Jordan Phillips, Dustin Jones, Cody Jones and Jeff Jones,all of Durant.
