James Leslie "Soup" Kyle, my father, was the son of David Alexander Kyle and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Terry. He was married to Margaret Lesbia Hill Apr 1, 1934.

James Leslie "Soup" Kyle, age 73, died Wednesday, May 16 at Houston Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, May 17 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Houston Cemetery with Rev. Grady Bailey, Jr officiating.

The son of the late David Alexander Kyle and the late Mary Betty Terry, he was the retired owner of South Tobacco Vending Company. He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was married to the late Lesbia Hill Kyle.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Pell of Houston and Mrs. Leslie Marie McGraw of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth White of Una and Mrs. Mattie Jamison of Tupelo.

Pallbearers were Sammy Jones, Joe Lancaster, Billy Peel, Burt Hill, John Fred Lancaster and Paul Floyd. Members of the Methodist Men's Bible Class were honorary pallbearers.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
