Mrs. Mary B. Kyle Dies at Age 89
Mrs. Mary Bettie Kyle, resident of Houston for the past 66 years, who had been ill for the past 15 months, died at 6:45 a.m. at the home of her son Dave Kyle in Houston. She was 89.
Funeral services were conducted from the Houston Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Walter D. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist Church and Charles E. Bland, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Interment was in the Houston Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in Charge.
Mrs. Kyle was born in Calhoun county 3 Oct 1869. She was the daughter of the late Charles Morris Terry and Mary Elizabeth Williamson Terry. She was a member of the Houston Methodist Church.
She was the widow of the late David A. Kyle who died in 1940
She is survived by three sons, Ben F. Kyle of Calhoun City, David W. and James L. Kyle both of Houston, six daughters, Mrs. H. H. Adams of Shelby, Miss., Mr. G. C. Gray and Mrs. William Brown both of Memphis; Mrs. John W. Jamison of Tupelo and Mrs. James Bush of North Little Rock, Ark.,; and a sister Mrs. Lillie Carter of Calhoun City. Twenty-one grand-children and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.
