David Wesley Kyle Sr
David Wesley "Dave" Kyle, Sr., 70, died Saturday Feb 2 at the Houston Medical Center after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb 4 at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Houston Cemetery. The Rev. H L Hathorn and the Rev. Grady Bailey officiated.
Mr. Kyle, a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, was the son of David Alexander Kyle and Mary Betty Terry Kyle. He was a retired restaurant owner and professional baseball player. He was the owner of Kyles Kitchen in Houston for a number of years and during the 1930's was a pitcher for the Memphis Chicks. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary A Kyle; a son, Wesley Kyle of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Kyle Brunt, Monroe, La., and Mrs. Dianne Kyle Patrick of Jackson; a brother, James L Kyle, Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth White, Prairie, Mrs. Mattie Jamison, Tupelo, and Mrs. Cleo Gray of Memphis; three stepsons, Clyde Goodwin, Cecil Goodwin and Billy Goodwin, all of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kate Brandon of Jackson and Mrs. Jeannette Spearmen of Tupelo. Three grandchildren and six step grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Smith, Roy Weaver, Sam Blue, Roy P Davis, Doyle Davis and Dickie Davis.
