Vera passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in a McAllen Nursing Home.
She was born in Leagueville, Texas to parents Price Adair and Mary Speers Adair on January 28, 1913.
She was reared in Leagueville. On November 28, 1929 she married Authur J.V. Gideon, and they made their home in New York, Texas. In 1939 they moved to Ennis. She was a devoted homemaker, and housewife for her husband and family, who farmed in Trumball,TX. Vera was also a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church in Palmer.
She is survived by one son, AJ Gideon and his wife Martha of Palmer. One daughter, Quessie and her husband Billy J. Harvey of McAllen. Two grandchildren, Stephen Harvey of McAllen and Elayne Blakley of Red Oak.
She was preceded in death by her husband Authur on April 6, 1982; eight brothers and four sisters; one grandchild; and her parents.
Pallbearers are: Bill Bair; Ricky McElhaney; Charlie McElhaney; Kenneth Adair; Greg Fullington; and Bill Watson. Visitation was held Thursday evening at JE Keever's Chapel in Palmer. Interment at Palmer Cemetery under the direction of JE Keever Mortuary.
