Pearl Shannon was born in Coffey county, Kansas, June 28, 1884 and died at the Johnson hospital at Chanute, Kans., January 9, 1924. She united with the Christian church at Burlington about fifteen years ago and has tried to live up to her belief. Pearl was dearly loved by all who knew her, she had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She will be greatly missed in the home where she was always present, always willing to do and help some one else. The community loss will be her gain. She has gone to be with Christ forever in that land where there will be no night.
She leaves to mourn her loss her aged parents, four brothers and four sisters: John, Roy, Harry and Tom, all of LeRoy, Mrs. Icy Mozingo of Parsons, Kan., Mrs. Flora Decker of Burlington, Mrs. Ella Gallaher and Mary of LeRoy, Kans, besides a brother who preceded her in infancy, and a host of relatives and friends.
