Emma Lucine Whiting was born March 8, 1853 at Silver Creek, Mills County, Iowa. Her father, Francis Lewis Whiting, was born September 22, 1830 in Nelson, Portage County, Ohio. Emma's father married Ann Janette Burdick on February 12, 1852 at Silver Creek, Mills County, Iowa. Ann was born February 19, 1831 in Oswego County, New York.
Edwin's family lived in Missouri for a few years before moving to Mills County and later to Manti, Iowa. When Edwin was old enough, he moved to Clitherall, Minnesota.
On the evening of the April 5, 1870, Edwin Buckley Anderson married Emma Lucine Whiting. A company of about 45 relatives and friends, gathered at the home of Emma's parents, to attend the wedding.
Edwin and Emma had eleven children, nine of which grew to adulthood. The family lived in Minnesota and Missouri before immigrating to Canada in 1905 with other Minnesota families.
After Edwin's death, Emma moved back to the United States of America.
Emma L Anderson died June 10, 1922 in Independence, Missouri. The cause of death was acute enteritis. She was buried at the Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence on June 11, 1922. Her death was registered June 13, 1922 by her son Lewis E Anderson.
