Foster was the great-grandson of Henry Hancock, the brother of John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Joseph Euclio Hancock, b. May 7, 1822 in Euclid, Cuyahoga County, OH. and d. Jul. 18, 1924 at the age of 102 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, CA. &
Nancy Augusta Bemis, b. Jun. 14, 1829 in Ellisburg, Jefferson County, NY. and d. Jun. 15, 1908 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, CA.

On Aug. 31, 1848, Joseph marr. (his 2nd wife), Nancy Augusta Bemis in Council Bluffs, IA.

F.K. HANCOCK, PIONEER, DIES
Foster K. Hancock, native of San Bernardino and member of a pioneer valley family, died yesterday following a sudden heart attack.
Mr. Hancock, who was 76 years old, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Belle Johnson, 240 East base line, where he had been making his home.
He was the son of the late Joseph (Uncle Joe) Hancock, one of the best known of the valley’s early settlers, who died several years ago at the age of 102 years. He was said to be a lineal descendent of John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence.
Mr. Hancock was born in 1858 on the old Hancock homestead on West Fifth street where he spent his boyhood. He was a rancher, but for many years was a teamster into the san Bernardino mountains.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Belle Johnson and Charles H. Hancock of san Bernardino, and Mrs. Gussie Tabor of Long Beach; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Tyler, Mrs. Lucina Lord of San Bernardino and Mrs. George Miller, of Highland.
The following nephews and nieces also survive:
Philip Hancock, Sol Hancock, Mrs. Lena Oldaker, Harry Lord, Ernest Lord, Fred Lord, Mrs. Esther Littlefield, Mrs. Ruby Edovitch, Will Hancock, Buford Hancock and Dr. A. E. Hancock, all of San Bernardino.
Mrs. Frank McCabe and Mary Miller of Los Angeles; Will Miller, Charles Miller, Mrs. Ida Lamb, Don Tyler, all of Highland; Mrs. Shirley Bright of Berkeley; Robert Hancock and Clyde Hancock of Brawley; Leslie Hancock, Salt Lake City; James Hancock of San Jacinto.
Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Mark B. Shaw memorial chapel. It is probable that officers of the Pioneer society, of which Mr. Hancock was a member, will have charge of the services.
