John D. Power Falls From Load of Hay
Louisville Farmer Had Resided on Same Farm for Past 63 Years
Seized with a heart attack while on a load of hay, John D. Power, 71, a lifelong resident of Louisville, died instantly at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning. He fell from the load but it is believed that he was dead before he struck the ground. No inquest was held.
Since before Christmas, Mr. Power had been subject to severe heart attacks. While his death was not a distinct shock, yet it was not wholly unexpected.
Mr. Power was born in Louisville, July 27, 1861, a son of Michael and Julia Singleton Power. He attended the district schools and on December 29,1885, he married Miss Sarah Finn, of Bombay. Mrs. Power died 32 years ago. Mr. Power had lived on the same farm for 63 years.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Ardle Fitzgerald and Mrs. Thomas Carroll of Louisville, and Miss Margaret Power of Massena. He is also survived by one sister, Miss Nellie Power, who has always made her home with her brother. Fifteen grandchildren also survive. Three children have preceded him in death.
