Miss Margaret E. Power, secretary to R.T. Whitzel, passed away at 9:45 Sunday night, October 2, 1949 in Massena Memorial Hospital. Death was due to a coronary thrombosis.

Miss Power worked as usual last Monday and Tuesday. She did not feel well Wednesday. However, she did not believe her condition was serious. She was admitted to the hospital Saturday noon.

Miss Power was born February 5, 1896. in Louisville, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Finn Power. She attended district schools and Massena High School and then was graduated from a business college in Cornwall.

For one year she worked for the federal government in Washington. DC and then returned to Massena to work at the aluminum plant 29 years ago September 1. She worked in the cost office until June 1, 1931 when she became secretary to Mr. Whitzel, manager of Massena Operations of the Aluminum Company of America.

For many years she has resided in an apartment in the Allen House.

Surviving are her two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Julia) P. Carroll and Mrs. Ardle (Mary) H. Fitzgerald, both of Louisville; 15 nephews and nieces.
