Our kind and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Betty Jean Rees Chappell Turner, age 82, died on November 18, 2008 in Glenwood, Utah.

She was born July 9, 1926 in Loa, Utah, a daughter of Parley and Mandy Melvina Bastian Rees. She married Don Austin Chappell on July 15, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died on March 29, 1994. She married William Alphonzo Turner on April 7, 2001 in Manti, Utah.

Betty will be remember for her love, her kindness and always putting other before herself; keeping a neat and clean home, where all were welcomed. She was very particular about her appearance and her home. She overcame obstacles and built a full life for her husbands, kids and grandkids. She was an excellent cook and made the best candy at Christmas time. She worked 19 years as a custodian for the Wayne School District and for the Forest Service as one of the "Golden Girls." Betty made friends where ever she went. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries and she had a strong testimony.

She is survived by her husband of Lyman; children: Leon and Connie Chappell of Torrey; Jerry and Dorotha Chappell of Lyman; Marsha and Randy Jensen of Bicknell; grandchildren: Chris and Rebecca Chappell, David Chappell, Kaycee Don and Melissa Chappell; Austin Rees and Pam Chappell; great-grandchildren: Chase Chappell; Kaitlin Chappell, Hailey Chappell, Brennan Chappell, Carter Chappell. Preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers: LaPreal Forsyth, Harriett Ann Morrell, Inez White, Beverly Rae Davis, Norman Parley Rees and Antone Bastian Rees.
