He was born in Princeville April 4, 1898 the son of Charles and Anna Martin Hammer. He married Mary Betts April 18, 1918. Hea was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Church, Princeville, and was a section formean for the Santa Fe Failroad for 51 years.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Dale of Galesburg; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Frame of Metamora, Mrs. Irma Short and Mrs. Robrt (Letha) Haungs of Peoria; two brothers, Clyde of Moline, and Verlen Hammer of Peoria; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary of the Woods Church, Msgr. Clarence Hettinger officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Bouton Memorial Home, with Rosary at 8 p.m.
