PEORIA -- Leatha V. Haungs, 87, of Rosewood Care Center of Peoria, formerly of 2227 W. Ellis, West Peoria, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Rosewood Care Center of Peoria.

Born Aug. 27, 1909, in Princeville to Charles "Punk" and Anna Martin Hammer, she married Robert G. Haungs on Nov. 9, 1962, in Peoria. He died Dec. 14, 1984, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are several nephews and nieces, including her niece, Barbara Hammer Roach of Peoria, who was her caregiver.

She was an office manager for her husband's accounting service, Robert G. Haungs Accounting. Prior to that, she worked for Central Illinois Light Co. and also was a beautician.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Wilton Mortuary, where visitation will be one hour before services. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to her church.
