Chico Daily Enterprise, November 10, 1920: "Funeral of J.W. Gray. The funeral of J.W. Gray, Chico resident for the past 56 years, who died at the Enloe hospital shortly after midnight yesterday, was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Galen Lee Rose officiating. Interment took place in Dayton cemetery. Gray is survived by three sons and 3 daughters. John A. Gray, A.B. Gray, Ike Gray, and Mrs. P.O. Anderson of Chico; Mrs. Floyd Gilbert of Gridley, and Miss Emma Gray of Oregon."
