Reece Moses, 80, of Etowah, died Monday afternoon, May 5, 2008, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
A native and resident of McMinn County for most of his life, he was a very special man who had nothing bad to say about anyone. A son of the late W.F. and Maggie Crockett Moses, he was a member of East View Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II with the Seabees First Class. He worked as a route man for Fox Photo in Athens, and was a former employee of Terminix in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, June Blackwell Moses of Etowah; special nieces and nephews, Karen Baker and Bart Blackwell, both of Athens, Jamie Blackwell of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Abrianne Fasig, Adam Fasig and "His Little Buddy" Jacob Fasig, all of Englewood; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Troy and Martha Moses of Dalton, Ga., Wayne and Betty Moses of Etowah, and James and Katherine Moses of Athens; and one sister, Eva Lou Fowler of Knoxville.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. James Staton and Dennis Bordwine officiating, and concluding with the White Dove Liberation Ceremony.
There will be no visitation held.
Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
