Fannie Dasher Holland, 83, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at her residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice after a short battle with cancer. She was born March 23, 1924, in Tattnall County to Mark and Mattie Dasher. She graduated from Draughon's Business College in Albany, and was employed by Glennville Bank, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Gordon, and in her father's grocery store in Glennville. She retired after many years and became a homemaker. When living in Doerun, Georgia, she worked with the GAs and Vacation Bible School of First Baptist Church. She was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Amanda DeLoach Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Smith E. Holland; parents, Mark and Mattie Dasher; brothers, Vernon Dasher and Remer Dasher; and sister, Katie Dasher Rushing.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Dayton Calhoun of Hogansville; sons and daughters-in-law: Billy and Glenda Holland of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; and David and Lesa Holland and R. Mike Holland, all of Reidsville; sisters, Dean King of Moultrie and Ann Norburg of Savannah; brother, Thurmon Dasher of Reidsville; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Glennville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial was in Battle Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy King, Jeffery Dasher, Mark Dasher, Vernon Dasher, Eddie Dasher, and Reggie Ray.
