Mom's picture, before she got married to my dad, is pictured on the right - at top. This was taken when she was 23 1/2 years old.

This is about my adoptive parents:

Dad (Henri) and Mom (Ann) adopted the boy that Dolly put up for adoption, in March, 1962.

Mom passed away from an aneurism of the brain on January 18, 1972 (she smoked 2 packs of Paul Maul Red cigarettes a day) - I will never forget the day she died (or the night before - when Mary, Mom and I went to sleep, "never expecting something like her to die by the next morning).

Dad and Mom adopted another girl, Mary.

Jim's birth mother, Aldene has an Aunt Mabel, who is the only one of the original 3 sisters still living (11/2008).

But, as of 2/2015, Mabel has passed away.

This was Mom's obituary, as of 01/20/72:

Mrs Ann Cowger, 39, of 2926 Abbotsford Way, died unexpectedly early this morning in her home. She was a native of Indiana, having lived in Tallahassee for two years.

She was a Presbyterian, and a member of the Junior League of Tallahassee. She volunteered at the Bargain Box Thrift Store with the goal to earn enough volunteer hours to get a Diamond ring.

Survivors include her husband, Henri Cowger, one son JH Cowger, one daughter, Mary Cowger, all of Tallahassee.

Bevis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

2926 Abbottsford Way, Tallahassee, FL is located here. Mom passed away in her sleep at this house.

Dad has since passed away also.

Mom attended the Northwestern University, School of Communication, and graduated in 1954. Her picture (at that time) is on the right, second from top.
