Grandfather, passed away September 10, 1962. I was born back in 1961, but my adoption wasn't finalized until June, 1963 ... so I missed out on getting to meet him.

His wife, Mabel, lived for 26 years more. I spent many years with her.

Grandfather and grandmother had two daughters, Ann, and Mary.

Grandfather had two sisters, Edna J and Helen J; and, one brother Charles L.

James' obituary reads:

J.H. Longshore, Ex-Industrialist, Dies In Florida

James Haworth Longshore, 67 years old, former Brazil industrialist, died late Friday at St Petersburg, Fla., where he had resided in recent years.

He was the founder, principle stockholder and president of the Continental Car-na-var Corporation, which had manufactured floor cleaning equipment in Brazil for many years.

Mr Longshore was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges at Brazil, the Scottish Rite, the Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, the Columbia Club of Indianapolis, the Indiana Society of Chicago and the St Petersburg Yacht Club. He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services will be held in St Petersburg Monday and graveside services at 2 pm Thursday in Crownland Cemetery at Noblesville.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs Mabel Longshore, a former Noblesville resident; two daughters, Miss Mary Longshore of Brazil and Mrs Henri E Cowger of St Petersburg, and two sisters, Mrs F C Plankael of St Petersburg and Mrs Ernest McCown of Watseka, Ill.
