Barney Disler Jr., Dies During Operation Made Necessary By Injuries From Crash.
First Thought Unhurt
Barney Disler, Jr., aged 18, Rudisill boulevard and Clay street, died at 12:35 o'clock this afternoon at the Lutheran hospital, during an operation made necessary by the condition of his injuries suffered in an automobile accident Sunday evening at the Washington boulevard entrance to Swinney park.
As the automobile in which Disler was riding started into the park, a car being driven east came around a curve and the lights blinded Clarence Wiedemann, 3624 Piqua avenue, the driver of Disler's car. Swinging out to avoid a collision, Wiedemann found that he was headed towards a tree after the bright lights of the approaching car had passed and in an effort to miss the tree, made a sharp turn, which turned his car over.
Disler was taken to the hospital and at first it was thought that he was not badly hurt. The operation was found necessary today, however, as he had suffered serious internal injuries.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barney L. Disler, with whom he made his home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Disler, and the following brothers and sisters, all of Fort Wayne: Ray, Arthur, Delbert, Kenneth, Mrs. Mildred Schoenherr, Mrs. Mabel Zuber, Grace, Rose, Elma, Edna and an infant sister.
