Ada Henry was the daughter of Stephen M. Henry and Mary Emma Bond. She was born January 31, 1876 in Aurelius township, Ingham County, Michigan. She married James Isaac Howe on June 16, 1892 at the Baptist parsonage in Aurelius Center, Ingham Co., MI by the Rev. Napoleon Smith. They had 10 children:
Hazel b. Apr 14, 1893 M. John Albert Denby and Henry Lewis Sheader; Myrtle Howe b June 16, 1896 and married Ford Jackson Hilliard; Harry Howe, b June 8, 1898 married Letha Pierce, Myrryne Communal and Joyce J. (Gall) Hoffman; Arthur S. Howe born Nov. 1, 1900 married Hazel Darlene Day; Fern Irene Howe b Jan 7, 1903 married Charles Bellinger; Beatrice Howe b July 12, 1905 married Fred Brandt & Walter McKay; Harold Howe b. Nov 16, 1909 married Esther Linda Dana; Gladys May Howe b May 30, 1912 and married Clarence Laver Hinton; Henry Harrison Howe b. Dec. 7, 1914 married Elsie Fay Getter; and Margaret Howe, b. May 31, 190 married Horace P. Porter. James and Ada Howe celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 14 at their home in Eaton Rapids with a open house. They had lived in Eaton Rapids for 40 years after previously born and brought up in Aurelius Township. James preceded her in death on August 16, 1955 and she passed away on March 18, 1962 in Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., MI. They are buried next to one another in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, MI.
