Harry Howe was the son of James Issac and Ada (Henry) Howe. His siblings were Hazel Denby-Sheader, Myrtle Hilliard, Arthur, Fern Irene Bellinger, Beatrice Brandt, Harold, Gladys May Hinton, Henry Harrison and Margaret Porter. He married Letha L. Pierce on November 26, 1924 in Eaton Rapids, MI. Harry then married Joyce J. (Gall) Hoffman. Harry passed away on Sunday April 21, 1991 at the age of 92 in Eaton Rapids Community Hospital in Eaton Rapids, MI. He was retired from the V.F.W. National Home as a Supervisor of the bus garage and Fire Chief; a veteran of World War I; a past Commander of the Eaton Rapids. V.F.W. Post #1283; and past member of Charlotte V.F.W. Post #2406. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Letha in 1952. He's survived by his wife, Joyce; 2 sons, Harold William and Fay Howe of Wayland and Richard Lloyd and Sylvia Howe of Olivet; 2 foster sons, Bill and Mary Young of Florida and Bob Layman; 4 grandchildren; sister, Margaret Porter of Eaton Rapids; sister-in-law, Esther Howe of Eaton Rapids, several nieces and nephews; and special niece, Lucille Clutter. Funeral services were held Wednesdsay, April 24 at 1 p.m. at the Skinner Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Mergener officating.
