OBITUARY
Eva L. Bailey Fimple was born March 15, 1872 in Dunn County, Wisconsin, and departed this life on July 30, 1956 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the ripe old age of 84 years, 4 months and 15 days.
She was one of the eldest of 11 children born to J. J. and Lucinda Bailey, all of whom have preceded her in death. While still a small girl, she moved with her parents to Custer County, Nebraska, where she accepted the Lord and joined the Methodist church. A few weeks before her passing she said she was ready to meet her Lord.
In 1895 she met and married John W. (Bunk) Fimple. Four sons and three daughters were born to the union, one son, Chester, preceding her in death. Her husband died in 1924.
For the past 20 years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Amos Wesson. Her life was spent giving love and friendship to those around her. She loved to travel, which the Lord gave her strength to do until the last few weeks.
All that loving hands and medical care could do was given her, but to no avail. When God calls, we must answer. The Lord blessed her both with a great posterity, including 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, also a long life, but life at its greatest length is but for a short duration.
Funeral services were conducted in the Leedey First Baptist church, S.B.C., at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 3, with Rev. Johnny Butts, Assembly of God pastor here, delivering the funeral sermon and Rev. Frank A. Renfro of Thomas assisting.
Pallbearers were Jesse Haynes, Herman Hogg, Eal Stout, Dunc Patterson, Vernon Imhoff and Elmo Woolley.
Her remains were laid to rest in the Shirley cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Noel Fimple of Pueblo, Colo., and Jay and Carroll Fimple of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three daughters, Mattie Jones and Myrtle Wilson of Leedey and Mrs. Amos Wesson of Colorado Springs; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Levree Fimple of Sterling, Kan.; also a host of friends, nieces and nephews, who gave her much loving care during her illness.
