William Henry Harper, a well known and respected citizen of this community died Thursday morning at 6 o'clock in the hospital at Kingman.
Mr. Harper had been ill for some time but his condition was not considered serious until a week ago when he was taken to Kingman where he underwent an operation on Wednesday morning for a cancer of the liver. He gradually grew weaker and died Thursday morning.

Mr. Harper was one of the early settlers of Kansas.
He lived near Mt.Hope for nearly forty years and resided near Duguoin the past four years.
He was a member of the Christian church and a loyal worker for his master.
He was 65 years old at the time of his death.

The body was taken to Mount Hope for burial.
Funeral services were conducted 2:30pm Friday at the Mt. Hope Christian church.

He leaves to mourn his departure,a wife, four daughters and seven sons.

The sympathy of the community goes out to the sorrow stricken family in their house of sadness.
The community feels that they have lost influential member and that the loss can never be replaced.
