William Ira Nesbit was the seventh child of William and Mary (Lawless) Nesbit. He never married. William Ira volunteered as a Private in Co. H, 2nd Regiment Georgia Cavalry on 7 May 1862. His CSA file says that he died of disease the following year on 19 Jan 1863 in DeKalb County.
