LYDIA STEEN FUNERAL
TO BE HELD SUNDAY.


Galena, .Kan., Aug. 24.—Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Steen, 69 years old, who died yesterday afternoon at her home, Eleventh and Main streets, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday, afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Other arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Steen was a native of Kentucky, coming to Galena over fifty years ago when the town was known as Short Creek. She had been ill several weeks from a complication of diseases.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Belcher of Galena and Mrs. Minnie Herrington of Marshalltown, Ia.; a son, William Steen of Galena; four grandchildren, Jack Ferneau of Joplin, Ralph Ferneau of Marshalltown, Ia.; Ruby Hamlan (sic) of Parsons and William Steen of California, and seven great-grandchildren.

AT HOME IN GALENA.


Galena, Kan., Aug. 23.—Mrs. Lydia Steen, 69 years old. Galena resident for more than fifty years, died this afternoon at her home, Eleventh and Main streets, following an illness from a complication of disease. She was a native of Kentucky, coming to Galena when the town still was known as Short Creek.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Belcher of Galena and Mrs. Minnie Herrington of Marshaltown, Ia.; a son, William Steen of Galena; four grandchildren, Jack Ferneau of Joplin, Ralph Ferneau of Marshaltown, Ia., Ruby Hamlon (sic) of Parsons, Kan., and William Steen of California, and seven great-grandchildren.

MILITARY FUNERAL HELD
FOR WORLD WAR VETERAN


Galena, Kan., Aug. 31.--A military funeral was conducted here Sunday afternoon by the Bernard Parks post, American Legion, for Grover C. Steen. World war veteran, who died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Lydia Steen, 1101 Main street, early Thursday morning. Services were held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. M. C. Cook officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
