She was one of fourteen children born to Margaret Jane (Vallely) and James B. Rock, who were (married) immigrants from the townland of Cladybeg, County Armagh, Ireland to the U.S. in 1866, emigrating to Vermont. Two of her sisters died young: Ellen (1878-1880) and Sarah (1886-before 1900).

Wife of Joseph P. Nestor. Mother of eleven children, who are now all deceased, those being: Margaret Nestor, Mary J. (Nestor) Feistel, Sylvester Joseph Nestor, Helen Josephine (Nestor) Devaney, Catherine Nestor, Elizabeth C. (Nestor) Sullivan, Patrick Anthony Nestor, Edward J. Nestor, Oliver James Nestor, Agnes Nestor, and Rosetta C. (Nestor) Kelly.

According to one of her descendants, in her later years, she had gone totally blind and another of her descendants recalls she wore high button shoes up until the end of her life.
