Born in the townland of Clady Beg, County Armagh, Ireland.

Daughter of Margaret (?) and Edward Vallely. Wife of James B. Rock. They married in Ballymacnab, Brady, Armagh, Armagh, Ireland, on 1 Aug 1862, and immigrated to Vermont, USA, about 1866. Together, they had fourteen children, as well as their illegitimate twin granddaughters, Celia (Rock) Liberty and Sarah (Rock) Candani, whom they raised as their own children. Two of their daughters died young: Ellen (1878-1880) and Sarah (1886-before 1900). All sixteen children were born in Vermont.
