She was one of fourteen children born to Margaret Jane (Vallely) and James B. Rock, who were (married) immigrants from the townland of Cladybeg, County Armagh, Ireland to the U.S. in 1866, emigrating to Vermont. Two of her sisters died young: Ellen (1878-1880) and Sarah (1886-before 1900).
Rose was the mother of illegitimate twin daughters, Celia Mary (Rock) Liberty and Sarah (Rock) Candani, who were both raised by Rose's parents.
She later became the wife of John T. Woods, whom she married on Aug. 28, 1907 in Boston, Massachusetts. They were married for about 8 years and 8 months when she died. Not known if they had children.
