John Albert Denby was the son of Richard Denby (from England) and Charlott Emily (Heasman) Denby (from Canada who also came to this country and remarried a man by the last name of Lord. John was born in Perkinsfield, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada and came to this country in 1908. He later became a U.S. Citizen. He married Hazel Howe on February 15, 1911 in Lansing, Ingham Co., MI and they had 8 children, 5 boys, Ken, Don, Wayne, Doug and John, 3 daughters, Irene, Luclle and Laura. He owned and operated a couple of Denby Gas Stations, one in Williamston and the other one in Lansing at the corner of Cedar and Fenton Streets. He also was a superintendent for Hugh Lyon Company which made cabs for trucks. John and Hazel resided at 1213 Cottage Street, Lansing, MI. He passed way at a Lansing Hospital at the age of 65.
