Mabel Flo Wamsley, who lived on the Camas Prairie most of her life, died Sunday at a Boise hospital of causes related to age. She had been living at Boise for the past four months. She was 85.

She was born Jan. 15, 1900, at Fletcher, Idaho, near Cottonwood, to Samuel M. and Melinda Thornton Crawford.

Mrs. Wamsley attended Marrowtown School and graduated from Craigmont High School in 1921.

She married Ellis R. Wamsley Jan. 1, 1922, at Craigmont. He died Nov. 26, 1967.

Mrs. Wamsley and her husband farmed in the Winchester area, and she lived there until she moved to Boise.

She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, in Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. Wamsley was said to be everyone's friend and those who knew her said she was a true example of a loving and caring mother and American.

Survivors are three sons; two daughters; one brother, Samuel E. Crawford, Lewiston; two sisters, Jessie May Kelley and Lillie J. Stephens both of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
