**There is a bit of confusion regarding Earl's middle name. Earl said it was Wiltcie, but his birth record says Witt. He had an Uncle named Wiltcie and his father's middle name is Witt, so I believe it could have been either one.

Earl W. Ames, 74, who had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Harvey Schwersinske, Fulton, died Sunday, May 5, in Memorial Community Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and resident of Fulton since 1953.

The son of Charles and Ida Vroman Ames, he was born May 20, 1893, in Wild Rose. He married Marie Kaatz. She died in 1963.

In addition to Mrs. Schwersinske, he is survived by five other daughters, Mrs. Richard Schmidt, Port Edwards; Mrs. Oscar Sorenson, Maywood, Ill., Mrs. Marlin Kraus, Stetsonville, Mrs. Clem Heinzel, Richland Center, and Mrs. Clifford Nelson, Isanti, Minn.; five sons, Dewey and Arnold, both of R.2, Edgerton; David, Mishawaka, Ind.; Douglas, Beloit, and Daniel with the U.S. Army; 39 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Oliver, Wautoma, and Charles in Oregon.

Services were held Wednesday, May 8, in the Ellingson Funeral Home, the Rev. J. Merlyn Bilhorn officiating. Mrs. Russell Ellefson was at the organ. Burial was in Fulton Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alvin Juhnke, Alfred Krueger, Darwin Schwersinske, Alvin Schwersinske, Kenneth McDaniel and Dick Heller.
